Moises and SoundCloud connect creation tools with distribution
On October 21, 2026, Moises announced a partnership with SoundCloud. The integration lets artists connect a SoundCloud account, bring eligible tracks into Moises (mobile or web), use stem separation, chord and lyric detection, Moises Studio mixing/mastering tools, real-time collaboration, and Moises’ agentic assistant “Moi,” then publish finished tracks back to SoundCloud, where eligible artists can reach listeners and monetize qualifying music.
The companies frame the tools as AI-supported production aids rather than full-song generators. Moises says its models are trained on licensed and authorized music, not on user uploads inside the platform. SoundCloud, quoted in the same release, says it does not use artists’ music to train generative AI models without explicit consent. Moises Pro subscribers are to receive a two-month trial of SoundCloud Artist Pro, and SoundCloud Artist Pro members a two-month trial of Moises Pro.
The announcement does not spell out every eligibility rule for which tracks can be imported, which SoundCloud monetization programs apply after republish, or when each feature reaches every region. Treat those as rolling details to check in-product.
If you try the loop, keep a short release log: original SoundCloud URL, what you changed in Moises (stems, mix, master, collaborators), who approved the final, and the republished SoundCloud URL. Confirm whether a republish creates a new track page or updates an existing one before you promote links. Cross-trials are for paid tiers named in the announcement—verify current offer terms in each account rather than assuming free-tier access.
Spotify plans Artist Profile Protection for all artists by year-end
On October 20, 2026, Spotify’s “Putting Human Artistry First” progress report said thousands of artists had opted into an Artist Profile Protection beta. The tool lets participating artists review releases that list them when music is delivered to Spotify, so they can decide what appears on their profile. Spotify said it is making the tool available to all artists by the end of the year.
Spotify’s current Artist Help article still describes the feature as a beta for a limited group. If an artist takes no action, the release goes live as scheduled; artists can remove themselves from eligible releases before they appear, or for up to 28 days after. Some artists can turn on an advanced approval setting that requires approval before a release lists them and may delay a release if no one responds. During the beta, Spotify notes that releases from some content providers may not be eligible for removal or approval.
This is a different story from the AI Credits and licensed-remix items covered in the October 27 weekly. Profile Protection is about wrong or unwanted credits landing on your artist page—not about labeling generative composition.
Check Spotify for Artists now for Artist Profile Protection in the user menu. If you have access, use the Review tab to watch releases around release weeks. If you have the optional advanced approval setting, coordinate with trusted distributors so legitimate releases do not miss their scheduled dates. If the feature is not available yet, treat year-end availability as Spotify’s stated plan, not a guarantee of your exact date.
PRS will use Soundtrack play data from UK businesses
On October 28, 2026, PRS for Music announced a partnership with Soundtrack (the business music streaming service formerly known as Soundtrack Your Brand). A press release carried by Record of the Day, and matching coverage from Music Business Worldwide, say PRS will receive play-by-play data on music played across around 7,000 UK premises that use Soundtrack—examples named include retail and hospitality brands, with the UK Parliament also listed as a Soundtrack user.
PRS says the data improves usage accuracy and reduces reliance on analogous or proxy estimates where direct play information was not available. It will begin incorporating Soundtrack data into royalty distributions to songwriters, composers, and music publishers from December 2026. The move expands PRS’s existing work with background-music providers; it does not claim worldwide coverage or replace every other public-performance data source.
If PRS represents your works, keep registrations, splits, and publisher links current so play-level data can be matched to the right work. This announcement concerns music used by participating businesses; it does not announce a new payout rate for consumer streaming. Outside the UK Soundtrack footprint, do not assume the same play-by-play treatment applies yet.
Four checks for this week
- If you use SoundCloud plus Moises, log the before/after files and confirm the republish path before you share links.
- In Spotify for Artists, look for Artist Profile Protection; if present, enable Review ahead of busy release weeks.
- Confirm your PRS (or home-society) membership details and work registrations before December distributions begin using Soundtrack UK play data.
- Separate platform marketing claims from in-product availability: Moises–SoundCloud eligibility, Profile Protection beta access, and PRS data incorporation all have limits or start dates noted in the sources above.
